Meet the team:

Karen Sykes has been with Sunshine Spray Service since its inception in 1982, and became a sole owner in 1997. Karen loves the lawn care industry and is very customer oriented and enjoys talking to customers. She aspires to be a company where you are “never a number”. Your name is known and remembered.

When Karen takes her nose off the grindstone, she enjoys gardening (no surprise), traveling, movies, and is an avid reader. She has one son, Jay, who is her right hand man in the business.

Jay Sykes loves Florida and has many friends and business acquaintances in the Polk County and surrounding area. He has been around the lawn spraying business all his life. He started out in 1997 as a spray technician and has worked his way up to Manager.

Jay has a comprehensive knowledge of the lawn care industry and annually attends classes and seminars to keep abreast of industry changes. He is an avid fisherman, both fresh and saltwater and enjoys traveling.

Frank Town, a graduate of Bartow High School, has been working for Sunshine Spray Service as the Senior Technician since 2009 and is a tremendous asset to the business.

Frank and his wife, Jennifer, a school teacher, reside in Ft. Meade and have three sons: Trent, Trace, and Trevor. On Frank’s personal time he enjoys coaching little league football.
