Polk County’s Premier
Lawn & Shrub Spraying Service
Sunshine Spray Service Inc. was founded in Polk County Florida in October 1982 and specializes in lawn and shrub spraying service, lawn fertilization and weed control. Our service area includes Auburndale, Davenport, Haines City, Lake Alfred, Lakeland, Lake Wales and Winter Haven. We service both residential and commercial customers. We have always been family owned and operated. The owner, Karen Sykes, is a Florida State Certified Pest Control Operator. Our technicians are expertly trained in all areas of lawn and shrub treatment. We have 65 years of combined experience encompassing a broad spectrum of knowledge in the lawn ornamental business.
Our annual program consists of four treatments, done quarterly, with a guarantee in between each scheduled treatment. This package includes all the basics for protecting your lawn against damaging insects as well as providing a well-balanced, high quality fertilizer program and includes broadleaf weed control. We specifically guarantee control of sod web worms, chinch bugs and molecrickets. Other services we offer are soil testing, soil pH corrections, yellow jacket removal, fungus treatments and Roundup services.
From the beginning we committed ourselves to providing the customer with maximum quality at a competitive price. This means always using the highest quality pesticides and using the highest rate allowed by law in order to prevent insects from becoming resistant to pesticides.
A great fertilizer program is essential for growing a healthy, dense and beautiful lawn. We don’t believe in the ‘Weed and Feed’ philosophy. Many people are not aware that their drive to get the grass super green comprises only a small portion of what the grass truly needs to be healthy. ‘More is not better’ where lawns are concerned. Your lawn is a living organism and should be treated with the proper balance of high quality fertilizers that best protect your lawn against diseases. Iron which is a quick green up is only one component your lawn needs. Also important for potassium, nitrogen, sulfur, and chelated minor elements. All of these components need to be adjusted and mixed according to what time of year it is and what special demands your lawn has.
Our industry is constantly changing with revised rules and laws as well as chemical and fertilizer label changes. We attend continuing education to stay abreast of these changes and make the appropriate adjustments in our program. No one is more committed to the environment than we are.
We are service-oriented, focusing on customer retention NOT customer turnover. We offer free estimates and competitive pricing. Contracts? Not with us. We’ve always believed that happy customers don’t need their hands tied.
